
There are many foods out there that will help you lose weight, but are there foods that will make you lose weight?
There is no magic food that will make you lose weight, but there are foods that increase satiety and will help you reach your weight loss goals.
After you learn about foods that will help you lose weight, the first thing that you want to do is plan ahead! Sit down once or twice a week, and plan every meal that you will consume. You also want to make sure that you keep a food log for yourself. Write down everything that you are eating and drinking on a daily basis.
So what are these magic foods that will make you lose weight, or rather assist you in your weight loss?
Steak - Most people that are trying to lose weight seem to shy away from red meat, but actually, the protein in steak helps you retain muscle mass during weight loss. Try to stay to local organic beef, that will be lower in preservatives. So, get some lean steak, slice it thin, and put in on a salad!
Eggs - You will also see people shy away from eggs while they are trying to lose weight, but in fact, eggs will help you lose inches! Eggs are high in protein, and leave you feeling full!
Oats - Oatmeal is always a great choice for breakfast! This will also leave you feeling full, and stays with you. When choosing an oatmeal, try to stay with steel cut and rolled oats, NOT instant!
Lentils – Lentils are great in soups or alone, and are very high in protein! They are also high in fiber and nutrients that help stabilize blood sugar levels. This helps prevent insulin spikes that can increase fat! So the next time you are making vegetable soup, add some lentils to it!
Wild Salmon - Salmon is a great choice for protein! Fish fats also help to keep your heart healthy! Also, the Omega 3 fatty acids improve your insulin sensitivity!
Apples - Apples are high in fiber, which helps to make them filling. Apples are also full of antioxidants that may help with metabolic syndrome (excess belly fat). So, if you have an “apple” shape, grab an apple for your snack!
Buckwheat - Buckwheat is a great choice for pasta, or for anything else you would use wheat for! Buckwheat is very high in fiber, and is the only wheat that contains protein. Buckwheat will leave you feeling full, so it is harder to over eat!
Blueberries – As we all know, blueberries are high in antioxidants! Blueberries also contain 3.6 grams of fiber per cup. So add them to your cereal, or on top of your oatmeal!
Pomegranates - Pomegranates are very good for you, but did you know that the seeds from the pomegranates are loaded with foliate and disease fighting antioxidants! They are also low in calories and high in fiber! You can get them at most grocery stores, and health food stores. Snack on them like nuts!
Chillies - Did you know that chilies help to crank your metabolism? They even cause your body to burn extra calories for 20 minutes after you eat them.
Parmesan Cheese – Parmesan and other whole dairy cheese may have more conjugated linoleic acid which might help your body burn fat. So keep some sticks of whole dairy cheese to make a great snack!
Avocado - The avocado is sometimes shied away from because of its fat, but it is a heart healthy monounsaturated fat that actually increases satiety!
Olive Oil - Olive oil is also a healthy fat that increases satiety! Use extra virgin olive oil and some balsamic vinegar on your salad instead of store bought dressing!
